Hey, u asked me about working for Madison. It was Madison i worked for. I was at their distribution centre in Milton Keynes working in internal sales. A lot of the brand managers, marketing, and credit control are based at Stanmore in Middlesex.

Great people to work with. THE biggest cycling and motorcross product distributor in the UK and rapidly expanding within those industries and also into board sports. Thus, a lot of room for growth if you put the effort in, make the right impressions, shake the right hands and stick at it.

To be honest the only reason i left was because i moved from Uni in the Lakes to MK to work there and really didn't like living in MK. I'd go back to them as a Territory Account Manager any day though.

Hope that helps.

If you know anyone who might be interested in my Supreme point them in my direction.

Cheers

Dave

seen an ad on a kiwi mtb website wanting guys to come and build for 3 month contracts. thought it was all shit but enquired anyways and was totally legit, 6 months later i was on a plane on my way here to build tracks everyday for 3 months. free flights free food free transport and a hefty pay check at the end of it all. dream come true bro. not sure what the grand plan is for this place but we are isolated bro, i mean, an hour and a half from anywhere. go figure.

Bike Pro is the nearest and best shop. One of the guys on the team last year used to work there.

Hey, good to hear you arrived ok. The next time I'm riding is 10-11th October at this race - http://www.pinkbike.com/news/moelfre-descent-gear-preview-2009.html

Would offer to take you down but I'm going up two days early to help mark out the course and get the people signed-on. I shall hopefully be riding the weekend after that at Bringewood or Hopton, so will give you a shout nearer the time to get it sorted!

Hey mate, replied to your post and just realised you left a message on my board. Didn't realise that nobody is taking over running the bike club this year. Could be because a lot of the team have graduated this year I suppose. I wouldn't let that stop you from bringing your bike, I pass by the Uni a fair bit and would be happy to take you riding with me if you split the cost of fuel with us. I'm sure theres loads of others in the B'ham area that would do the same too.

There's some good riding to be had in the UK so would be a shame to miss out.

Haha, my job is looking for work too man. I'm not bilingual either so I know exactly what you mean. In the meantime I'm working part time at a highschool managing their chemistry lab. Still looking and hoping for something better. As far as studies go I took an undergrad in Bio/Chem and then a Masters in Env Studies so I'm looking for stuff in those fields...I've been at it for about 6 months now and still nothing. Hope you have better luck than I do!

Sweet!! Well sign me up for any and all opportunities to get out and ride man! As far as skill level I dont think you have too much to worry about. I was watching some videos of last years races and some are downright hilarious. It's al;l about having fun and setting your own limits. You working in the city this summer? I think i remember you saying you were a student at UofO?

Ya man, I heard the same...I'm hoping they are going to pull out some last minute save for the season, but its not looking so good yet. If things do work out, I will totally split with gas (heck, I'll pay all the gas) and everything if your interested!! Are you thinking about racing the O-cup this year by any chance or hitting up any of the race weekends on practice day?

Aitken Wing was where I lived, but Shakleton Hall is the one to aim for - very pimp accomodation! Just go for anywhere on the Vale, it's full of hot freshers! Wink

Doesn't matter what your skill level is, the club don't take riding too seriously, they only tend to race once a year (this year I was the only one that could be bothered racing in the Student champs!lol). There's a freeride area that the club sometimes go to on Wednesdays if that's more your thing, called Kinver, but most of the time we head out on the weekends to ride DH. I've started racing a lot more this year, so if you're up for that side of things you're welcome to catch a ride in my Land Rover to any events. There is a group on Facebook called 'University of Birmingham Cycling Club' if you want to get in touch with any of the members - Ed Davies is the lad you want to be speaking to on there.

Hey mate, I'm a graduate from University of Birmingham, but still ride with the guys there (also raced downhill for them at the student champs last week). You should definitely bring your bike as there is a club that does organise trips on Wednesday afternoons and weekends and you can get a space with your bike in one of our cars. Give me a shout if you want anymore details Wink
